Who we are

Students Fighting Climate Change is a group of students dedicated to building a livable future by pushing for climate action on and beyond campus. We believe in the power of organized student voices to challenge harmful systems and demand bold solutions to the climate crisis.

Originally started at the University of Texas at Austin in 2019, this group formed in response to the growing urgency of the climate emergency and the need for student-led pressure on powerful institutions—including our own university—to divest from fossil fuels and invest in sustainable alternatives.

Since then, we’ve organized protests, hosted educational events, collaborated with local environmental groups, and created resources to help students take action. We focus on climate justice, understanding that the crisis hits hardest in communities already facing systemic inequality.

Whether it’s through policy change, creative outreach, or direct action, we’re here to make climate justice impossible to ignore.
